Do you need to pay to use long-term care services?
Under the government’s Long-Term Care 10-Year Plan 2.0,

what kinds of subsidies can you apply for? Where should you apply?
How can you access care resources, and are you eligible for subsidies?

For families with elderly members who need long-term care,
it’s important to make good use of the services provided by the government and society.
These can serve as the foundation of care, and if that’s not enough,
you can supplement it with your family’s accumulated resources —
a very practical solution!

Today, let’s first understand: Who can apply for long-term care services?

Persons with disabilities who have functional impairments:
Individuals with physical or mental disabilities who hold an official disability ID or handbook.

Elderly people living alone or frail seniors who need assistance with daily activities:
Individuals aged 65 or older who require help with daily activities such as dressing, eating, bathing, or walking;
or seniors who have experienced weight loss, weakness in the lower limbs, or lack of energy.

Individuals aged 50 or older with dementia:
Those aged 50 and above who show symptoms such as reduced communication ability, memory loss, sleep disorders, or hallucinations,
or who have been diagnosed with dementia.

Indigenous people aged 55 or older with disabilities:
Indigenous individuals aged 55 and above who need help with daily activities such as dressing, eating, bathing, or walking.

Elderly individuals aged 65 or older with disabilities:
Seniors aged 65 and above who need assistance with daily living activities such as dressing, eating, bathing, or walking.

If your family meets any of these conditions,
you should take the initiative to apply for the support you need —
it helps the elderly, and it helps the whole family!
