At Teng Cheng, the stair lift for the Lin Family was installed on the left side of the staircase, allowing the shoe cabinet on the right side of the entrance to remain fully accessible. When folded, the seat and rail together occupy only about 35 cm of the total stair width, making it a highly space-efficient solution that keeps the home’s traffic flow smooth.Beyond its smart layout, the fully enclosed handrail design — unique in Taiwan — provides an extra layer of safety and peace of mind for the whole family.

Curved rails differ from standard 90-degree turns commonly found in residential staircases.
Because a curved rail occupies more stair space — the triangular area between the large curve and the wall is larger — it can take up more room than a typical 90-degree corner. Therefore, if the staircase conditions at home allow (the rail does not need to be segmented and does not block doors, etc.), we generally recommend a standard 90-degree turn installation for a more space-efficient solution.
